The Modern Problem of Political Sovereignty

Both G.F.W. Hegel and Carl Schmitt took seriously the problem of political sovereignty. While Schmitt rejected liberal political theories that argue for the immediate unity of democracy and legality, Hegel claimed that the constitutional monarchy can maintain the division of the powers and their unity. Feseha argues that Hegel's conception of the division of powers deserves attention by contemporary states to solve today's issues.
