Tea production, cultivation of the tea plant, usually done in large commercial operations. The plant, a species of evergeen (Camellia sinensis), is valued for its young leaves and leaf buds, from which the tea beverage is produced. The importance of plantation crops particularly tea is considered as an important social factor since it provides employment, both direct and direct, to a large population in remote corners of the industry. Moreover, the plantation crops help sustain the fragile ecosystem of the region. Tea plantation is the major carbon balancer of the world. Scientific study of tea production began about 1890. Most tea-producing countries maintain scientific research stations to study every aspect of the subject, including seed production, clonal selection (for the propagation of single leaf cuttings), tea nursery management, transplanting, development of the bush and subsequent pruning and plucking, soil management and fertilizer use, and the ultimate replanting of the stand. The tea crop has rather specific agro-climatic requirements that are only available in tropical and subtropical climates, while some varieties can tolerate marine climates of British mainland and Washington area of the Unites States.
Entrepreneur's Guide of Tea Growing treats the cultivation to consumption, and its treatment of the subject. This guide attempts to analyze tea growers' current scenario, problems and prospects of this new form of entrepreneurship. Several factors influence the demand for tea, including the traditional price and income variables, demographics such as age, education, occupation, and cultural background. In addition, health has a great influence on tea consumption to recommend strengthening consumer awareness of the health benefits of tea consumption through an international generic promotion program. Finally, apart from consumption, other main drivers of international tea prices are trends and changes in per capita consumption, market access, the potential effects of pests and diseases on production, and changing dynamics between retailers, wholesalers and multinationals. Farm management should be strategic and tactical to improving profitability of tea farming business. This guide traces the history of tea, its cultivation methods, and types of tea available worldwide, and manufacturing processes.
