Tall tiered cakes mark special occasions and between the frosting, flavors, and colors, make people happy. Combining watercolor painting with impressive cakes is a combination made in heaven. Today's class captures the tall and grand cakes that bring a smile to everyone's face. Using watercolor techniques, such as wet on wet for a fun gradient and wet on dry, for adding details, we'll paint a 2 tiered cake with a drip glaze. And, not to be confused with a culinary glaze, we'll use the technique of painting a watercolor glaze to intensify the color of the frosting.
The class demonstrates painting a 2 layer cake, but there is a 2 part Bonus Class with 4 other techniques. These techniques can be used in addition to the ones shown in class, or in place of them. Create the cake of your dreams, without the industrial kitchen! Class includes a downloadable template to trace your image, an Ideas Sheet, and Class Supply List. Also shown in class, are ways to modify the template to sketch the specific details you like.
